Conversation Clubs

There are a range of conversation clubs in South Yorkshire. They offer an opportunity for refugees and asylum seekers to come together with English-speaking volunteers to meet people, practice their English and take part of various activities.

The conversation clubs are free, and do not need to be pre-booked, you can just turn up on the day.

Women's Conversation Clubs - Sheffield

Women's Conversation Clubs allow refugee and asylum seeker women to come together with English-speaking volunteers in a safe, relaxed, women-only environment. They offer the opportunity for women to meet local volunteers and other refugee and asylum seeking women from the area, practice their English, build confidence, and develop skills.

Volunteering at the Women's Conversation Clubs

If you are a woman who wants to volunteer at the Conversation Clubs, you can either:

  • call in at a Club session; or
  • contact the co-ordinator listed in the Conversation Club Times; or
  • ring the NRC on 0114 241 2780 and ask to speak to the Women's Development Worker.
